Created by chef Charl Coetzee and sommelier Welma Beukes, this gourmet food pairing features Creative Block 2, 3 and 5 as well as Spier’s Late Bottled Vintage 2007. Creative Block 2 (Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon) paired with goat cheese and cauliflower with roasted almonds. Creative Block 3 (Shiraz/Mourvèdre/Viognier) paired with venison and apricot curry. Creative Block 5 (Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/Cabernet Franc/Malbec/Petit Verdot) paired with gorgonzola and roasted sesame seeds. Spier’s Late Bottled Vintage 2007 paired with chocolate meringue cake.

Cupcakes make people smile and wine in moderation enlivens any affair, therefore we pair the two for the perfect pick-me-up indulgence that pampers the palate and the mood.Our signature foursome includes an exotic pomegranate cupcake, matched with our ever-popular Delheim Pinotage Rosé, for a fun, fruity and fresh start. A Rooibos cupcake infused with lemon and topped with a cream cheese and honey icing is paired with the Delheim Chenin Blanc Wild Ferment. A Pumpkin & vanilla cupcake infused with star anise, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and topped with diced pickled pumpkin, is paired with our Delheim Pinotage. A traditional African Makataan cupcake, festooned with makataan (wild melon) syrup icing, shares the spotlight with our Delheim Gewürztraminer to end off the pairing.
