Wine and Cheese Tour
Introduced in the Cape, cheeses & wines were developed by a handful of Huguenots (French Protestants), Dutch East India Company (VOC) servicemen and German soldiers and adventurers. The nutritional and medicinal value of both highly valued products proved essential in keeping the far-flung refreshing station of the Cape of Good Hope in the 17th and 18th century.

- Wine & cheese tasting in Paarl, Since Cyril Back first brought milking goats to Fairview in 1980, the Fairview Vineyard Cheesery has continued to grow and develop. With the assistance of Michel Agostinelli, Fairview initially began producing goat’s milk cheese, courtesy of the resident Saanan goats. Today Fairview gourmet cheeses are market leaders.
- Wine and Cheese tasting at Frasnchhoek Cellar. Wines from The Franschhoek Cellar range are paired by winemaker Richard Duckitt with specialty cheese hand-made by Truckles Traditional Cheese in Franschhoek. Wines include the tropical Statue de Femme Sauvignon Blanc, our rich and aromatic La Cotte Mill Chenin Blanc, the elegant and citrusy Our Town Hall Chardonnay, the soft and juicy Old Museum Merlot, the spicy Baker Station Shiraz, and our smooth Churchyard Cabernet Sauvignon.
